The world doesn’t wait for you to be ready.

There’s a son talking to his dad in the country family home, the same place he spent his childhood.

The son moved to the city years earlier.

“Dad, it’s called Messenger. All your kids are on a group with the grandkids. You’ll see photos, videos, little chats. You don’t have to reply. You can just watch.”

“I’m not going on that bloody rubbish.”

The son knows it’s hopeless.

His dad is stubborn.

No amount of explaining will change his mind.

And it isn’t worth turning it into a fight.

So, life goes on.

Birthdays.

Sporting events.

New grandkids.

Messages.

Laughs.

Connection.

And he misses it all.

Even phone calls become sporadic.

From the grandkids, almost non-existent.
